The Shoei Syncrotec was the first helmet I purchased when I got back into adventure riding after a long hiatus. I found the helmet to be comfortable, fairly quiet and work very well. The flipface design was great and I had no issues with the helmet.
Eventually I fashioned a makeshift visor for it, as I prefer having some form of peak not only for the sun but for blocking road spray, bug swarms and gravel.
Due to age and a desire for more of a crossover style helmet, I purchased the XD3 as a replacement.
Though no longer in production, the Syncrotec is a very good helmet, and in fact I preferred it to the newest version, the Multitec, that I purchased subsequently.
